What the data shows
We run a daily job bank for our own outbound: public GTM job posts, matched to companies, checked for fit before anyone is contacted. This is the first quarterly cut. Five findings stand out.
- RevOps is a B2B hire. Among companies we classified, 15% of B2B job posts were revenue operations roles, against 5% at B2C companies. At B2B SaaS companies it was the most common title group: 21 of 89 posts (24%).
- "GTM engineer" is still a US title. Only 30 of 1,580 posts (1.9%) used the title. 20 were US roles, 5 were in India and 3 in the UK. Searches in the UAE and Singapore returned none.
- Search results for "GTM engineer" are mostly something else. Of 159 posts returned for that search across five markets, 99 (62%) were sales, solutions or presales engineers. Only 26 carried the GTM engineer title.
- Specialist marketing titles thin out fast outside the US and UK. Across both weeks, demand generation titles appeared 29 times in the US and 22 in the UK, but once each in the UAE and Singapore. Marketing operations followed the same pattern: 38 in the US, 2 in the UAE.
- Several GTM roles at once is rare. 171 of 1,318 companies (13%) had two or more distinct GTM posts open. Among B2B companies we classified, excluding staffing firms, it was 9%. The longest lists belonged to large enterprises such as Google, AWS, Cisco and Salesforce.
Two smaller results matter for anyone building a hiring signal. AI or automation appeared in 28 titles (1.8%), and a tool name in 6 (HubSpot four times, Clay once, Marketo once). And 14% of the companies we classified were staffing firms or agencies, even after filtering recruiter names out.
The sample
1,580 unique job posts from 1,318 companies, collected on 15 and 22 October 2026. Each run searched LinkedIn's public job pages for 13 GTM role phrases in India, the US, the UK, the UAE and Singapore, limited to posts from the previous seven days (posted 8 to 21 October). The public search returns about 20 results per role and market, so counts show where supply ran thin, not total market volume. We added 72 posts from the Himalayas remote board and one from Y Combinator's job board. Recruiter and staffing names were filtered out. We analysed titles and locations only: job descriptions were not collected, so tool and skill counts are title mentions. SDR, BDR, content and SEO roles were not in the search set. B2B and category splits use the 363 companies we have classified so far. No personal data is used or published.

Role mix by market
Share of each market's posts by title group, both weeks combined. General marketing covers digital, brand and generalist marketing manager titles.
| Title group | India | US | UK | UAE | Singapore |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Posts | 300 | 398 | 338 | 208 | 263 |
| Marketing leadership | 13% | 22% | 17% | 9% | 13% |
| Growth | 11% | 16% | 12% | 5% | 10% |
| Paid media and performance | 11% | 12% | 11% | 4% | 4% |
| Revenue operations | 10% | 10% | 13% | 5% | 8% |
| Marketing operations | 3% | 10% | 4% | 1% | 2% |
| Demand generation | 4% | 7% | 7% | 0% | 0% |
| GTM engineer | 2% | 5% | 1% | 0% | 0% |
| Sales and solutions engineering | 6% | 1% | 8% | 14% | 7% |
| General marketing and other | 39% | 17% | 26% | 61% | 57% |
In the UAE and Singapore, searches for specialist roles mostly returned generalist marketing titles. A Singapore company hiring a "marketing manager" may want demand generation work done, so read the title as a starting point and check the post.
Where supply ran thin
Role and market searches that returned five posts or fewer in both weeks:
| Search | 15 Oct | 22 Oct |
|---|---|---|
| Paid Media Manager, UAE | 4 | 1 |
| Paid Media Manager, India | 5 | 2 |
| Chief Marketing Officer, India | 1 | 5 |
| Chief Marketing Officer, UAE | 3 | 3 |
| Chief Marketing Officer, Singapore | 3 | 3 |
| Head of Demand Generation, UAE | 4 | 5 |
| Performance Marketing Manager, UAE | 3 | 5 |
Searches that returned 15 or more in both weeks included Head of Marketing in all five markets, Revenue Operations in four, and Marketing Operations Manager and Demand Generation Manager in India, the US and the UK.
B2B against B2C
| Title group | B2B posts (315) | B2C posts (112) |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue operations | 15% | 5% |
| Demand generation | 8% | 1% |
| Marketing operations | 6% | 4% |
| Marketing leadership | 15% | 24% |
| Paid media and performance | 7% | 13% |
| Growth | 12% | 16% |
B2B teams hire for pipeline systems. B2C teams hire leaders and paid acquisition. In India, Bengaluru held 20% of posts and Mumbai 18%, followed by Gurugram and Hyderabad.
What a hiring signal tells you
A GTM job post is a timing signal. It says a company has named a problem and put budget against it this quarter. It does not say the company fits your ICP, and here it often did not: 14% of classified companies were staffing firms or agencies, and close to half failed our own fit check.
Use it in this order:
- Fit first. Check size, B2B model, market and exclusions before the post counts for anything. A great signal at a bad-fit company is still a bad-fit company.
- Read the title as the problem. A RevOps or GTM engineer post says the systems are not built yet. A paid media post says acquisition is a priority and capacity is short. A new head of marketing says a review of the plan is coming.
- Check ownership. Customers, open deals and accounts in cooldown go to their owner, not into a sequence.
- Say something useful about the problem. Write about what the role is meant to fix, not about the vacancy. If you removed the call to action, the message should still help the reader.
- Respect the window. A post is strongest in its first weeks. Once someone is hired, the new hire is the signal.
The full method, with decay windows for every signal type, is in Signal-based outbound: which B2B buying signals work. Turning a signal into a reviewed campaign is in Signal to sequence.
Questions buyers ask
Is a job posting a good buying signal for B2B outbound?
It is a good timing signal and a weak fit signal. It tells you a company has budget and a named problem this quarter. Check fit and ownership first, then write about the problem the role is meant to solve.
Should we pitch a company that is hiring for the role we would fill?
Sometimes. A company hiring a RevOps lead may want help until the hire lands, or help building what the new hire will run. Some want the job done in-house only. Offer to make the hire's first months easier, never to replace the hire.
How many GTM engineer jobs are there?
In our October sample, 30 of 1,580 GTM posts used the title, and 20 of those were US roles. Searches for the term return far more sales and solutions engineer roles, so filter on the exact title if you track it.
